Nátali de Mello
Nátali de Mello is an award-winning Brazilian-Canadian illustrator, author, and graphic designer, holding an MA in Illustration by Falmouth University. She is the author and illustrator of the nonfiction book My Dinosaur–and Other Pre-historic Animals, a collaboration with the Royal Tyrrell Museum of Palaeontology, published by Balão Editorial in Brazil. She recently illustrated the book Indrazaal-and the Quest for the Ocean, written by Kama La Mackerel, a Mauritian Canadian multidisciplinary artist and activist, published by Éditions Kata in Quebec. Nátali is also illustrator and author of two forthcoming picture books and one graphic novel.
Her main interest lies in our relationship with the natural world, translating it through storytelling and illustration, using a mix of analog and digital media.
As an artist from a diverse background, she understands the importance of inclusivity and representation in the creative industry.
Nátali lives in East Canada where she spends her time working from home, hiking in nature, or eating a nice slice of pizza with her husband and twins.
